Toddler Cards
Toddler Cards is designed for toddlers learning letters, numbers, and words.
We built it on a strict no-tracking principle: the app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data about you or your child on our servers.
There is no login. There is no account. There is no cloud sync. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers.
All of the following are stored ONLY on the device where the app is installed, in a local SQLite database that we never access:
If you uninstall the app, this data is removed by iOS as part of normal app deletion.
When you create a custom card, the app sends a text request only (the word you typed) to two third-party services:
What these services do NOT receive:
The generated audio and image are downloaded to your device and cached locally for offline use.
Separately, when the app crashes, anonymized technical crash data is sent to Sentry (crash reporting). See “Crash diagnostics” below for the exact contents and limits of that data.
| Permission | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Photo Library | Pick a photo for a custom card | Only when a parent taps the photo button on the create-card screen |
| Camera | Take a photo for a custom card | Only when a parent taps the camera button on the create-card screen |
| Microphone | Record audio for a custom card | Only when a parent taps the record button on the create-card screen |
| Microphone | Voice-over recording for bundled cards | Only when a parent taps the record button on the record-audio screen |
If you decline any permission, the app continues to work; you just can’t use that specific custom-card feature.
Voice-over recording: A parent (after passing the parental gate) may record their own voice to play with any bundled card. The recording is stored on the device only; it is never transmitted.
Toddler Cards is designed for children under 13, but the app does not collect any personal information from children. Children cannot create an account, log in, or send anything to anyone. The “Add Card” feature is locked behind a parent gate so a child cannot trigger third-party network requests on their own.
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
To keep the app stable for children, we use Sentry to detect when the app crashes or hits an unrecoverable error. Sentry is a crash-reporting service operated by Functional Software, Inc. Their privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect personal information from children under 13 through crash diagnostics. The data above is technical telemetry about the app, not about the child using it. Crash diagnostics run silently in the background and never prompt a child for input.
Sentry retains crash events for 30 days on our plan, after which they are deleted from Sentry’s servers. We do not export crash data to any other system.
Separately from Sentry, iOS may ask whether to share crash reports with developers; you can decline. If you choose to share, Apple sends Apple-anonymized crash data to us through App Store Connect.
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an App Store update note.
